Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Audio Operator to join our production team. The Audio Operator is responsible for managing all aspects of audio production during live broadcasts and pre-recorded programming. This role is critical in ensuring that all audio elements meet the highest standards of quality, enhancing the overall viewer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Live Audio Mixing: Operate audio consoles during live broadcasts, ensuring that microphones, music, sound effects, and other audio elements are mixed to create a balanced and clear sound output.
- Pre-Production Setup: Collaborate with producers, directors, and other technical staff to set up audio equipment, including microphones, speakers, and audio recording devices, for various production settings.
- Sound Quality Control: Monitor and adjust audio levels during live and recorded broadcasts to maintain optimal sound quality. Address and resolve any audio issues that arise in real-time.
- Audio Recording: Record and edit audio tracks for pre-recorded segments, ensuring that all audio elements are synchronized with video and meet the technical specifications for broadcast.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of audio equipment to ensure reliability and optimal performance during broadcasts.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the production team, including camera operators, video editors, and directors, to achieve seamless integration of audio and visual elements.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of audio settings, equipment configurations, and any technical issues encountered during broadcasts for future reference and improvement.
- Compliance: Ensure that all audio content complies with FCC regulations and station policies, including managing any technical adjustments required for compliance.

Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in audio production, preferably in a live broadcast environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering, Sound Design, Broadcasting, or a related field is preferred. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý
- Proficiency in operating professional audio equipment, including digital and analog consoles, microphones, and recording devices.
- Strong understanding of audio signal flow, acoustics, and broadcast standards.

- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
